Xbox is a series of consoles by Microsoft. The first console, Xbox was mentioned in late 1999. Then in 2001, Microsoft released the console, also releasing a big hit, Halo: Combat Evolved. Xbox competed against Nintendo's Gamecube and Sony's Playstation 2.In 2002, an online service called Xbox Live was released, then becoming a big thing. In 2004, Halo 2 was released and became the most bought Xbox game.
In 2005, Microsoft released the Xbox 360. It was released in 2005 so it could support HDMI. Xbox 360 competes with Nintendo's Wii and Sony's Playstation 3. It's online service has to be paid to play online, but supports cool avatars, a party mode to play online with friends across the world and has Netflix to watch movies.
In 2010, Xbox released the Xbox Kinect, changing how we play video games.
