ESRB

The Entertainment Software Rating Board(ESRB) is a rating board that rates video games so then people can see what the game contains like if the game contained animated blood it would say on the back of the video game: Animated Blood.
ESRB has rated over 19,000 game titles, submitted by 350 publishers. The ESRB currently has 7 different ratings.

Early Childhood:
The Early Childhood rating is the parent-friendliest game rating by ESRB. This rating is recommended for persons 3 and under. All the games that get this rating is about education or preschool shows. Nintendo and Sony have published some Early Childhood titles.



Everyone
The Everyone rating is a parent-friendly rating.Most of the games that have this rating are sports games, Mario games, PS3`s Littlebigplanet series, and The Legend of Zelda series. This rating is recommended by persons 5 and older.
Everyone 10+
The Everyone 10+ rating is a parent-friendly rating. Games like the Lego Starwars series and the Kingdom Hearts series. This rating has been a rating since 2004. This rating is recomended for persons 10 and older.






Teen
The Teen rating has some content that wouldn`t be recommended for children. This rating is recomended for persons over 13. This rating is one of four ratings that aren't that violent. Some titles include the Uncharted Series, the Infamous series and some Mario games.





Mature 17+
The Mature Rating is one of two ratings not recomended by children. A lot of games that get the mature rating have blood and gore and violence. Some titles are the Call of Duty series, the Grand Theft Auto series, the Red Dead series, and the Left 4 Dead series.


Adults Only 18+
The Adults Only rating is the worst rating a video game can get. It is not recomended for children. This rating cannot be found in stores, because of the ratings quality. When a game gets this rating, the creaters have to try to make it better(like changing it to the Mature Rating). Some titles are Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, and Mahunt 2, both made by Rockstar Games.


Rating Pending
The Rating Pending rating is the first rating every game gets. This rating means that the game is yet to get rating, and hasn't been through ESRB yet.
