Nintendo is a manufaturer that created the most consoles in gaming history. It is also the oldest manufaturer in gaming history, being created in 1889. It didn't used to be a video game manufaturer; it used to be all kinds of stuff. Nintendo gained popularity in 1981, when it released one of the most known video games of all time, Donkey Kong. After it gained popularity in video games, they used the character from Donkey Kong, Jumpman(Mario). Nintendo secondly released Mario Bros., again being a huge hit. 2 years after Nintendo released Donkey Kong, they released Nintendo Entertainment System. The NES was the key to play the greatest video game of all time, Super Mario Bros. The game included the world famous song- the Super Mario Bros Theme. In 1989, Nintendo released a handheld console, Gameboy. Different versions of Gameboy were released like the Gameboy Color, released in 1998; and the Gameboy Advance released in 2001.
In 1996, Nintendo released the Nintendo 64, one of the best consoles made. It was one of the first to support 3D video games. It released its first 3D Mario Game, Super Mario 64, one of the best video games created.
In 2001, Nintendo released the Gamecube, a small cube-based console. The Gamecube was the first console to include the Nintendo-Exclusive series Animal Crossing.
In 2004, Nintendo showed off Nintendo DS, probaly the most-known handheld console. It received lots of  good reviews. Nintendo made different models like Nintendo DS Lite, Nintendo DSi and Nintendo DS XL.
In 2005, Nintendo released the Nintendo Wii, a motion console. It was a big family console; and competed with Sony's Playstation 3 and Microsoft's Xbox 360.
In 2010, Nintendo showed off history at E3 2010, by showing off the first console to include 3D, the Nintendo 3DS. The Nintendo 3DS supports 3D without the use of 3D glasses. The 3DS is supposed to release in 2011.
